The first oval and with reeded borders, scroll handle and hinged domed cover with shell thumbpiece and ball finial, the sides pierced and bright-cut engraved with stylised foliage decoration, the second of sarcophagus form with two lion's mask drop ring handles and hinged domed cover with wrythen finial, the side later engraved with presentation inscription 'Welcome Home to the Virginia, 1st May 1919' and initials L.A., one engraved with a crest, fully marked
The first 3¼in. (8.8cm.) high, the second 4in. (10cm.) high (2)
