A French ormolu-mounted breche violette marble urn with a pedestal

The urn with a moulded edge, above a waisted fluted neck, the bulbous body with spirally-fluted lower bowl, flanked to each side by a scrolled handle with three playful putti, hung with flower garlands, on a stepped socle with egg-and-dart-cast edge, inscribed ROBERT/SCULPTEUR, on a square panelled plinth, raised on four claw feet; the later liver-red and grey marble pedestal with a square stepped pediment above a truncated column, on circular foot and square base
The urn: 28½ in. (72.3 cm.) high
The pedestal: 16½ in. (42 cm.) square at top; 41¼ in. (105 cm.) high
