A large French ormolu clock on parcel-gilt and cream-painted pedestal
In the Louis XV Style, Circa 1880
The domed case surmounted by a figure of Cupid, above an arched pediment, flanked at each corner by a ram's mask, above a shaped glazed panel door, the lower part with a reclining female figure, the brass dial-plate with twelve enamel numeral plaquettes and twelve five-minute numeral plaquettes, with central enamel disc signed LEPAUTE H. DU. ROY A PARIS, the twin-train movement striking on a bell, the sides each with a shaped glazed engraved-grille panel and a shaped door to the back, on scrolled cherub feet; the pedestal of square section, with an egg-and-dart moulded edge, with a stylised Greek-key frieze, above panelled sides, the front and sides hung with foliate festoons, the canted angles with ram's mask terminals, on a stepped base
