Of shaped rectangular outline, the superstructure with a pierced three-quarter gallery above a central fielded slide with a porcelain oval, the harlequin interior with four pigeon holes, flanked to each side by three small drawers, locked by the central slide, the shaped top with eared corners with a green tooled leather writing surface, above a kneehole with a central drawer and a pair of drawers flanking each side, the brass lock-plates stamped with the Lion and Unicorn crest and BY ROYAL/LETTERS PATENT FOUR LEVERS SAFETY LOCK with HY in an escutcheon, on shaped square tapering legs, each headed by keeled pierced clasps, on foliate sabots
