An ormolu-mounted Meissen porcelain mantel clock
Circa 1880
With flower-encrusted surmount, above the shaped flower-encrusted rock-form case, the circular French enamel dial painted with floral swags, with foliate and fruit-cast ormolu border, the twin-train movement stamped A LA GERBE D'OR/A. CHAPUS/PARIS/RUE DE RIVOLI 86, on a naturalistic base modelled with a couple in 18th century dress dancing and another woman to the side playing the mandolin, on flower-encrusted rocaille feet, with blue crossed swords mark and impressed numbers 1047/50
