A VERY FINE COPY OF THE FIRST EDITION, possibly a presentation copy. Philpot was dancing master to, amongst others, Frances and Charlotte, daughters of Charles, 6th Duke of Somerset. This appears to have been his only published work and includes sections on 'The Disadvantage of not giving Children a good Education -- As fatal to the Fair Sex as to Men... The Neglect of Parents in not inspecting into their Children's Education... Awkwardness to be corrected in Children before they learn the Steps of Dancing', and ending with 'A Dissertation on the regulation of the Art of Dancing'.
