Collation: A-Q8 (A1r letterpress title within ornamental woodcut border incorporating printer's intitials at upper corners, A1v full-page woodcut of a scholar at his desk, Q3r first colophon, Q3v-Q8v table, Q8v second colophon) 2A-2C8 2D4 (A1r letterpress title within same woodcut border as part one, A1v preface, D3v-D4r table, D4r second colophon, D4v blank). Gothic type, Greek type on Q3r, woodcut historiated initials and woodcut tailpiece at end of part one, shoulder notes. (Shaved with occasional loss to headlines and shoulder notes, tiny wormholes in title, neat tears in two leaves, touching a few letters in G4, occasional light staining.) Later limp vellum.

SECOND EDITION. A fine copy of this unusual medical work. The topics treated are arranged in alphabetical order, each beginning with a translation of the accepted term into English. Boorde describes symptoms for many of the diseases and conditions he relates, and often includes a short note on the causes and remedies of any particular malady. The first colophon is dated 1546, a year before the first edition appeared. STC 3374; Wellcome 975.
