Inlaid overall with ebony lines, the arched moulded cornice with central raised circular panel above a pair of arched glazed doors enclosing four shelves, each flanking door with three shelves, above a secretaire-drawer lined with black suede and enclosing five pigeon-holes and seven drawers, one fitted for inkwells, above a pair of panelled doors enclosing three slides and flanked by a door to each side enclosing a shelf

This arched cornice, appears on another Regency bookcase, with a kneehole flanked by drawers, sold anonymously, Sotheby's New York, 8-9 December 1989, lot 350, and on a Regency bookcase, in the manner of Gillows, sold anonymously, in these Rooms, 27 June, 1985, lot 176.
