Crisply carved as a closed lotus leaf forming the vessel, the rim irregularly everted, the sides deeply carved with a crane balancing on a lotus leaf and a lotus pod, amidst a lotus flower, further large curled leaves and aquatic plants issuing from stems forming the base, the white and amber-brown stone with russet veins, areas with grey and white mottling, slight abrasion to one side
