This pattern of Apollo-lyre splat with rosette-enriched base features on a closely related chair bearing the stamp of the menuisier Jean-Baptiste Claude Sneé (elected maître in 1769) and illustrated in F. de Salverte, Les Ebénistes du XVIIIe Siècle, Paris, 1962, pl.LXVII. A related pair od chaises by Claude I Sené was sold anonymously at Christie's New York, 26 October 1994, lot 96.
