Three Matchlocks
Edo Period (late 18th/early 19th Century)
The first's barrel lightly carved with a dragon and clouds to the muzzle, the barrel lightly pitted, unusually the barrel is fitted with an adjustable rear sight, wood stock and brass fittings; another, the lower part of the octagonal barrel decorated with a cockerel in brass and silver, with a silver inlaid gyoyo mon, wood stock and brass fittings; and the last, the lower part of the octagonal barrel decorated with a karashishi and clouds in brass and copper, garlic shaped muzzle ring, wood stock and brass fittings, the barrel heavily pitted
