An Okegawa Do Tosei Gusoku [Solid Plate Cuirass Armour]

The eight plate conical acorn [shii nari] shaped helmet with a deep peak and koshimaki, the four stage gilt copper tehen kanamono on an iron base with decorative vine and gourd motifs running down, each plate splashed with sawari [white metal], black lacquered hineno jikoro with kon ito sugake odoshi and murasaki hishinui [mauve silk knots], fore crest of gilt copper in the form of a hishi [five diamonds] mon, a good russet iron Nara mask with a hair moustache, chin tuft and gilt teeth, the ears pierced with a flower design, five lame throat defence, matching do of yokohagi okegawa form [solid plate cuirass of horizontal construction], the main section of russet iron plates cut in the hanare yamamichi [separated mountain paths] style and splashed with sawari, the lower two sections of black lacquered iron kiritsuke kozane, mune ita decorated with an iron gourd and vine motif, kusazuri of black lacquer kiristuke kozane in leather, on the back the bracket, socket and tube for the sashimono, sode of solid plate in russet iron, an extra plate rivetted on, the lower plate of black lacquered iron laced on, each main plate with an applied bonji [modified Sanskrit character] in iron splashed with sawari, kote of mail with russet iron insets all splashed with sawari, matching haidate and russet iron shino gote, with an armour box
