The lower half and brow sections forged as one with the nose and upper lip rivetted on after, large open eyeholes with rounded eyebrows embossed above, each cheek boldly pouched, exterior surface lacquered smooth with a red/brown lacquer, the interior lacquered brown with traces of gilding, together with a throat defence of Namban gusari
