Mei: Yasutsugu oite Echizen saku kore, Edo Period (17th century)
The blade honzukuri, iorimune, torii zori, koitame-hada with chugissaki, ko-midare hamon of nie, chu-maru boshi, a dragon horimono on the omote, a ken on the ura, ubu nakago carved with an Aoi mon, 15.5/8in. (39.7cm); with an old silver covered habaki carved with waves, in a lacquer saya decorated with a dragon in lacquer, matching silver mounts comprising a fuchi-kashira, kozuka, kogai, kojiri and uragawara, all carved with dragons and clouds with gilt details, the kashira with signature Kansai Natsuo and kao, the kozuka with signature Kansai Natsuo, the kogai with signature Kansai and seal, Edo Period (late 19th century)
