The brown clay body with a large tongs' mark on one side, dipped in cream glaze which has a double-crackle and falls just partly short of the foot rim and partly under it, some small gold lacquer repairs, together with a green, black and white striped bag

Lot Essay

The tong mark is rather an unusual feature in a Hagi teabowl, being normally associated with black Raku.
