The chawan covered overall in a cream slip and a semi-transparent glaze with a double crackle, Momoyama Period (late 16th/early 17th century), gold lacquer repairs, some areas of which are missing; the Seto chaire in the form of an iron rice cooker, with a tenmoku glaze on the interior and down to the flange, below which the body is unglazed, the ivory cover fitted to the undulating rim of the jar, Edo Period (late 17th/early 18th century)
