Edo Period (19th Century) and Edo Period (late 18th Century) respectively
The first with one side decorated in gold hiramakie and foil with sparrows among bamboo branches, the reverse with blossoming cherry trees and a waterfall among hills in gold and silver foils, okibirame, nashiji, and kimpun, nashiji interiors, cover stuck and slight old wear; the second with the saya decorated in gold hiramakie with continuous hanabishi patterns, the five-case otoshi of roironuri ground decorated in gold and iroe togidashi, okibirame and hirame with horses around a blossoming cherry tree, ten and chi with gold hanabishi patterns, nashiji interiors, small cracks and slight old chips to the saya and slight scratches and minor old damage to the otoshi, an attached metal ojime modelled as a lotus leaf with a frog
