Engraved bird's-eye plan of Palermo on single Royal sheet, 410 x 550mm (engraving 410 x 542mm). Dedication set in a decorative strapwork cartouche surmounted by the arms of Marcantonio Colonna, Viceroy of Sicily, a Latin eulogy set in a decorative strapwork cartouche surmounted by the arms of Palermo, the arms of Spain in upper centre, compass rose, legend and key, galleons and smallships decorate the sea. (Trimmed to image along upper and lower edges with slight loss, stiching holes in left hand margin, occasionally affecting image, some worming.)

RARE. An important Orlandi reissue of a very rare Duchetti mapof 150 (see Tooley 431. 2 copies). A detailed plan of Palermo and its surrounding lands, showing the Royal Palace, the fortress and harbours, the fortifications, the street plan and houses. Watermark not legible.
