A small mahogany kneehole desk, late 19th century
in the Chippendale style, the rectangular top with a gilt tooled green leather and a rosette and ribbon-twist moulded edge, seven drawers around the kneehole with C-scroll moulded fronts and blind fret-carved stiles, the sides and back with similar scroll decoration, on carved square tapering legs with rosette carved block feet and inset castors, stamped Bertram & Son, Dean Street, Oxford Street and numbered 02140 and with a fragmentary label to the underside, one leg loose -- 48in. (122cm.) wide
