A German engraved goblet
the generous funnel bowl with gilt line rim cut, polished and engraved with Cupid seated on a gilt lion within a foliate scroll cartouche and inscribed Eien grimiges fir alles berwint, the reverse with Cupid before an altar surmounted with a gilt heart and inscribed Eien Freies Hertz mit Lieb entzint within a similar cartouche reserved on a stylised foliate ground, the lower section with stylised shell ornament, on faceted shoulder knop above an hexagonal inverted baluster stem with faceted basal knop and petal-cut conical folded foot engraved with foliate scrolls, mid 18th century -- 25.5cm. high
