Lot Essay

Contains the original plates of the 1762 edition (Fermiers-Généraux), and in addition to the 80 plates after Eisen (two of which are in the fine re-engraved state) this copy contains 9 of the rejected plates (Cohen pp.567-68) and an extra plate in "La Coupe enchantée" and "Le Faucon", respectively. There are also two states (découverte and couverte) of the engraving for "Le Cas de Conscience".
