A silver pair cased verge oignon watch with alarm, Jean Rousseau, early 18th Century,
two piece white enamel dial with raised reserves painted with black Roman numerals, central Arabic alarm disc, eccentric winding holes for going and alarm trains, single hand, signed gilt fusee movement with divided egyptian pillars, chased foliate alarm barrel, pierced and chased strapwork and foliate balance cock, inner case finely pierced and engraved with foliage, strapwork and grotesques, the back engraved with a coat of arms, pierced outer case, diameter 60mm.
