A French polychrome carved ivory triptych, 19th century
in the 14th century manner, the iron bound and hinged exterior painted with a nobleman and a lady to the front, angels to the sides and a crest to the reverse, all on a blue ground heightened with gilt edging and stippled quatrefoils, the interior, with conforming blue and gilt decoration, with four crocketed arcaded panels carved in relief with scenes from the nativity, flanking a central Madonna and Child group in higher relief, with outset columns and rectangular plinth -- 9in.
