The hood with elaborate fret-carved arched cresting with blind-fret carving below, scroll volutes to the chamfered angles, with breakarch hood door, the rectangular trunk door with moulded panelling and flanked by cluster columns, on bombé plinth with bracket feet, the gilt-brass dial with cherub and coronet spandrels to the silvered chapter ring signed Peter Walker London, subsidiary seconds ring and date aperture to the matted centre, the engraved arch with rings for day of week (with symbols), strike/silent and month (with number of days), with recessed silvered panel between, the three-train movement with anchor escapement chiming on gongs
