Lot Essay

Five of the original drawings are captioned in pencil: "Villa Battessa," "Roccaforte Calabria," "Villa S. Piovanni," "Francescana," and (?) "Jacvamendista." The engraved and lithographed plates are extracted from works by Gaetano Dura, H. Greeven and Salvatore Marroni, and from The Military Costume of Turkey (London, 1818).
