A Victorian cast novelty smoker's companion
in the form of an Indian elephant kneeling down with a howdah on its back and a decorative headress, on a plain oblong base with three casters, (possibly additions), the howdah with three cylindrical recepticles, probably for tapers, and a burner, (these lacking) with incuse registration lozenge mark, probably by Henry Wilkinson, inscribed retailers mark of "Jennan & Knewstub, 23 St.James' St S.W." - 18.5cm long x 17cm high, 55oz.
