An unusual late 19th-Century French timepiece with aneroid barometer and thermometer, mounted to simulate a boiler/engine house,
the timepiece and barometer mounted symmetrically above brick faced boilers with thermometer centrally mounted to represent the pressure gauge and with a single cylinder inverted vertical overcrank stationary steam engine with independent clockwork drive, the floor mounted cylinder with bar type crosshead guides, delicate connecting rod, the crankshaft supported on waisted trunnions, the partially railed entablature supported on six fluted columns, with gear driven Watt governor and spoked flywheel, the whole mounted on a diamond pattern engraved floor and finished in dull silver plate and anodised and gold plated brass, and decorated with simulated pipework and finials -- 15¾ x 12¾in.
