An 18th-Century German silver and gilt perpetual calendar,
unsigned, one face finely engraved with a compass rose and scale of days with adjacent zodiac signs, the other with compass points engraved Nord, Ost, Sud and West, pierced with appertures to read from the silver volvelle Sonne trit in Morat hat tage, Tage Lang Nacht Lang Sonné untergang and Sonne auffgang, in pink-stained chamois leather lined, fitted case, both sides with embossed gilt neo-classical decoration, with brass hook and eye -- 2.1.4in. (5.7cm.) diameter
