the two bulbs united by waxed and cord-bound seal, filled with sand, the upper and lower six-sided caps united by six square-section pillars -- 10¾in. (27.3cm.) high; and a companion one-hour sandglass of similar construction -- 9½in. (24.1cm.) high, both top sections inscribed in ink 2 and 1H
