A early 18th-Century brass folding square,
signed Dominicus Lusuerg F. Romae. 1700, the hinge decorated with foliage and pierced for a plummet cord to read against the engraved scale 45°- 0°- 45° on the articulated centre section, the three hinges engraved with foliate rosettes, the articulated bridge located by dowel pins, each arm of the square engraved on both sides with scrolls and flowers at their ends and fitted with pad feet -- 7¾in. (19.7cm.) arm length, 10.7/8in. (27.6cm.) long, fully opened
