A 19th century Continental silver gilt oval sauce tureen and cover, on stand with borders of ovolo moulding and stiff leaves, the lower body with a chased calyx of foliage, the cover with a swan finial flanked by cast bi-furcated serpent handles, unmarked apart from French duty marks, probably low countries/German, 1st half of 19th century - 22.5cm wide, 25oz.
