This machine has a dealer's label (The Gramophone Shop, Croydon Road, Caterham), which is unusual for an EMG: normally, these gramophones were sold direct to customers by EMG. In this case, the Gramophone Shop was the customer, using the EMG to demonstrate records. They clearly updated it in 1929, when the Mark X with its larger and more convenient horn appeared. The gramophone was sold to a private customer when the Gramophone Shop closed, in May 1930.
