A Carl Thieme (Potschappel) baluster vase, cover and stand
the handles formed as maidens with baskets of flowers, the spirally fluted cover with a crowned armorial shield finial between two putti, painted with a classical scene of four maidens anointing an infant, a winged putto to one side, the reverse with a loose spray of flowers, the footed base painted with Venus and Cupid, blue cross and T marks, circa 1890 -- 87cm. high
