The dial with gilt foliate spandrels, subsidiary rings in the arch for chime/silent, slow/fast and eight bells/Westminster chimes, the triple chain fusee movement with anchor escapement, with hour strike on gong and quarter chimes on eight bells via a pinned cylinder with pendulum holdfast to backplate, the case with five uns and pinapple finials to the top, the domed hood mounted with a flowervase and scrolling acanthus, carrrying-handles and pierced sound frets to the sides, flower-spray pilasters headed by female masks to the angles, on a stepped plinth with brass plaque engraved Presented to the/CHILDREN OF MARY ST.
