The case modelled as a library and flanked by a standing female classical figure with open volume, with artistic trophy relief mount to the other side, on stepped rectangular base applied with floral wreath mounts and with anthemion cast gallery, on milled feet, the dial within a flower-head cast bezel and painted with Roman chapters, with steel moon hands and rubbed retail signature Hartmann à Paris, the twin barrel movement with countwheel strike on bell, mounted on ebonised oval plinth base housing a musical movement with a 21cm. pinned cylinder
