October 1792: "Mauveleporam lies... on the sea coast and is known to mariners by the name of the Seven Pagodas".
October 1792: "This view was taken near Mavelaporam on the Coromandel coast. Most of the Hindoo Temples in the southern part of Hindoostan have attached pavillions,...principally used on those festival days when it is thought proper to make such an exhibition for the gratification of the populace".
