Lot Essay

Indra Sabha, dating from the early ninth century and later, is probably the first of the five Jain caves on the site of Ellora: Its arrangement very much recalls that of Kailasanatha, but here the various chapels and shrines are filled with the images of the various Jain Tirthankaras or saints (Parasvanath, Gomata Swami, Mahavira...).
