Part of Oudh, on the River Gogra, Uttar Pradesh

This watercolour appears to be a sketch for the aquatint engraving published in the Oriental Annual on 2 October 1837. The aquatint differs from the oil painting mentioned in the previous lot in the foreground detail and the positioning of the boats.
There is a mention of the Daniells' time in Oudh in William Daniell's diary, dated 11 July 1789 (see lot 44).
