20 parts in one volume, oblong 2° (448 x 556mm). Letterpress title, 40 hand-coloured aquatint plates by H. Merke, J. Hamble, or Viveres after drawings by Howitt and Williamson. (Lacking engraved title, marginal tears to 12 plates touching image of one, short marginal tears in about 8 text leaves, lightly browned, some soiling and occasional staining, creasing to about 16 leaves or plates.) 19th-century russia panelled in gilt and blind with wide roll-tooled gilt border, marbled edges, (rebacked, extremities repaired). Provenance: Thomas Hesketh, Rufford Hall, Lancashire (bookplate).
