QIANLONG SEAL MARK AND OF THE PERIOD

The faceted body well painted on each face with single, large upright boughs of pomegranate, peach and persimmon alternating with flowering branches of peony, chrysanthemum and lotus, the waisted neck with similar smaller upright floral sprays divided by arabesques and lotus sprays at the angles, the rim with a band of key patterns, the shoulder with a fret-work band above pendent ruyi, the spreading squared foot with baroque cartouches above a key-fret border (small edge of foot restored)

Compare with the similar Qianlong-marked vases included in Selected Masterpieces of the Matsuoka Museum of Art, 1975, no. 102; in Geng Baochang Ming Qing Ciqi Jianding, Qingdai Bufen, p. 160, fig. 146; and one sold in these Rooms, 8 October 1990, lot 568.
