Of rounded rectangular form, well cast around the sides with a continuous seascape of mythical sea creatures gambolling amongst breaking waves above a waisted foot, set at each side with protruding animal-mask handles, the cover cast in openwork with dragons and phoenix amidst ruyi-clouds beneath a coiled dragon knop, the base with an apocryphal Xuande mark
