The baluster vase raised on a splayed foot, the elongated waisted neck flanked by a pair of finely detailed elephant handles suspending loose rings, mounted with a fitted cover surmounted by a pomegranate finial, surrounded by an elaborately carved group of further pomegranates on a coiled vine and a large praying-mantis perched on a gourd, the vase surrounded with a densely decorated scene of two shepherds seated under a prunus tree issuing blossoms and huge leaves, their flock standing on nearby rockwork, the mottled stone with pale lavender tone and area of apple-green inclusions to highlight the carving (old breaks restuck)
