The pedestal of the binnacle has six feet which have holes for deck mounting. The base has a decorative anchor motif which supports a fluted column with three decorative collars. The brass bowl houses a 5 inch Negus compass in points and degrees. The compass is protected by a heptagonal glazed cone. The maker's mark is found on the top cap of the binnacle and on the compass, 31 x 5in. (78.8 x 12.5cm.)
