TWO STAFFORDSHIRE FIGURES OF SAILORS
Mid 19th Century
One a young boy wearing a straw hat and middy blouse, 11in.; the other standing beside a tartan banner, 9.3/8in.; together with a brown-glazed commemorative flask, the flattened pear-shaped bottle moulded with named portraits of 'Victoria' and the 'Dutchess of Kent', the sides with acanthus, 8in. high; a biscuit figure of a sailor before a cannon titled along the base 'The handy man', 6in. high; and a painted plaster figure of a sailor wearing a blue and white striped shirt, black hat, tie and jacket and belted brown trousers, 5in., high, including wood base.
