A LATE 19TH CENTURY BUILDERS MODEL OF THE S.S. HARFLEUR
A solid hull built up in lifts with black topside and pink bottom. The decks are wood painted as faux ivory and have the deck planking drawn in with india ink. The superstructure of the model is also built up from wood, with cargo hatches, bridge, aft cabin and poop deck, other details include anchors, anchor chain, chocks, bollards, turn buckles, venilators anchor windlass, cargo booms, cargo winches, crows nest, wind indicator, portholes, railings, gagways, ladders, running lights, wheel, binnacle and engine telegraph, skylights, docking wheel with quadrant and chain links, many of these details listed are either gold plated or german silver over brass. The model is mounted in its original mahogany case with turned columns, original plinth, with molded details and original builders plaque, 59 x 12 x 18in. (150 x 31.8 x 46.4cm.),
