Kalo was an Arts and Crafts workshop and school established in Chicago in 1905. Clara Black and her husband George Welles who started the workshop choose the name "Kalo," a Greek word meaning beautiful. Known for its metalwork and jewelry, Kalo had a lasting influence on the Arts and Crafts movement.
