The front of the famed "Reflecting City" screen is decorated with atmospheric imagery of Rome, as seen through Fornasetti's romantic eye. The right and left panels mirror each other, while the lower portion of the entire screen reflects the scene in water. Through the repetition of black and white, the layering of architectural symbols, Fornasetti captures the classical grandeur of Rome.
