Autumn: A Fte Champtre

The present work is based on the original, painted circa 1730 for Franois Leriget de la Faye, as one of a set of the Four Seasons, now in the Homeland Foundation, New York (see M. Taverner Holmes in the catalogue of the exhibition, Nicolas Lancret, 1991, pp. 70-1, no. 6).
