A NORTHERN PLAINS BONNET
Composed of a hide hat, decorated overall with cut strips of white winter ermine, surmounted by a pair of black horns, red wool wrapped by cotton at each point with dyed red hair, horns attached by hide strap, a band of "tipi" designs stitched along the front in pink, blue and translucent red beads against a white beaded ground, trimmed above with a strip of red wool, yellow cotton and red silk ribbon, accented with pink, brown and yellow silk ribbon on the sides
