Lot Essay

The present bronze is one of two studies for the twenty-one foot monument of John Wayne located outside the Great Western Bank on Wilshire Boulevard in Beverly Hills, California. Dedicated by James Stewart on July 22, 1984, John Wayne did not live to see the monument's completion.
